I finally realized what the encryption does. I took the card out of my Passport and popped it into my Classic and it said I have to de crypt it.

So if I put it in a computer, would it be able to be read?

No you will not be able to read it if you connected it to your computer with an sd card reader.

As long as the sd card remains in the phone that encrypted it, it can be accessed by that phone only. You can also connect your BlackBerry to computer and access your sd card through mass storage mode on your computer.

If someone gets their hands on your sd card without the phone, it is useless to them. The most they can do is format it I believe.

You will definitely need to decrypt before access it on anything other than your phone. I'm not sure if you can decrypt through BlackBerry Link, but I doubt it.

I only use encryption on my Device memory and not the SD card because there's only photos and Music on it.

Only your Passport is going to be able to decrypt it, and only your Passport is going to be able to read it unless you decrypt it.

Now I've read forums where the decrypting gets stuck, what do I do if that happens?

What do you mean by gets stuck?
I have had my phone reboot in the middle of encrypting files. The phone resumes the encryption process when phone has rebooted. You get a message saying something like encryption will resume in 5minutes.

Mine never finished and I restarted anyway, I put it into my other phone and it seemed to work.
