I am having problems with setting up my email on my curve. I have sprint. My school email is gmail based but its not an "@gmail"..its "@email.cpcc.edu" but it is gmail based. i followed all of the instructions that blackberry emailed to me, the email is after this. i continue to get an error message every time. ive tried setting up on the BB itself and on the sprint BB email setup website on my computer. please someone help as i NEED to be able to have access to my school email at all times on my BB.

    the email from black berry:

"Your attempt to configure the BlackBerry Internet Service to deliver mail to your BlackBerry device from this email account was unsuccessful. This email provides instructions to help with the email account set up.

    You submitted the following information:
    Account Type:POP3/IMAP
    Email Address:brushin0@email.cpcc.edu
    User Name: brushin0@email.cpcc.edu
Password:****** (For security the password is not displayed.)
    Mail Server:imap.gmail.com

Please confirm the information. Refer to the instructions below for help in determining the correct information. After confirming the information, log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service site and try again.

    POP & IMAP Accounts
Internet Service Provider email accounts are commonly either POP or IMAP accounts. You need the following information:
Note: You can find out this information from either your desktop email application or your Internet Service Provider:
    Email Address:Your email address
    for example, user@ISPname.com
Server: The name of the Mail Server
    for example, mail.ISPname.com
User Name: The portion of the email address before the "@" symbol
for example, patrickmoser in the address patrickmoser@ISPname.com
Password: The password for your account

The BlackBerry Internet Service site provides a utility you can download to help set-up your email account. This small application searches your computer for configured email accounts and provides BlackBerry Internet Service with these settings. To download this application:

From your desktop browser, log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service account. Refer to the documentation provided by your Wireless Service Provider for the web URL.
On the Email Accounts page, select Add Account.
When prompted, type your email address and password. Click Next.
Select I use Microsoft® Outlook™ or Outlook Express™. Click Next.
Click Download and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you are still having difficulties adding your email account, visit the online help on the BlackBerry Internet Service site.

    Thank you. "

Hmm, my school uses google apps too, but I didn't have that problem setting up my email account.

My email uses my name@mail.usf.edu, so it's not an issue of the extra periods in there.

When accessing your school email from your desktop do you use a web-based interface, or a POP3/IMAP client installed on your desktop? If it's web-based, I would check to make sure that POP3 or IMAP are enabled for your account. If you use a locally installed client, then you may need to manually setup the BIS settings to match those used by your client software (do a Google search for gmail blackberry imap for a rough guide).

I could also be entirely missing the problem, in which case none of this will help.
