Lately I'm REALLY liking the idea of BlackBerry and Sony teaming up. Sony is making some hot phones these days, but unfortunately they're just a small blip in the radar next to the giants.

Theoretically I like the idea, but I can't help but think they would both be an anchor to each other. If Sony wasn't doing so bad or if BB wasn't doing so bad I would be more on board.

BlackBerry just has to man up and release a phone that people want, Apps be damned. So far they haven't shown any willingness to attempt to out do the big guys so they will be in their shadow until they can. Apple and Google's Android Hardware partners have showcased quite a bit of capability over the years some of which BlackBerry has yet to replicate let alone out-do.

I am not saying they need to move all their phones to some amazing CPUs and GPUs, but they should have 1 phone that is beast and invites the hardware heads to take a look. Right now playing catch up isn't going to get anyone's attention.

EDIT: I am still waiting for them to buy out Tactis.
