- Well today it happened. Dust got into my 8820's screen. I thought I could deal with it, but more got in, and now it actually causes me a problem when viewing things on my BlackBerry. As of now I'm using my 8310 curve (which I had a dust problem with back in June). Does anyone have any links to a professional service that specifically removes dust from a BlackBerry's screen? I googled it and searched the forums, but no luck. Also,I don't want to do this myself because of how badly I screwed up my curve when trying to do this a few months back. Thanks!

From what I have been told, the front faceplate has the acerb cover attacked to it...there should be some tutorials on here that tell you how to take your BB apart.
Other than that, yet some compressed air in a can and spray by the keyboard, that should get some of the air in between the screen cover and the screen itself.

Now if you can find an authorized BlackBerry Repair service, they MIGHT, be able to reseal the lens/LCD area to help keep dust from getting under there.
Ways to minimize the dust collecting inside your phone.
Keep the back on, use the Soft rest instead of a battery pull, use the battery pull when nothing else works. ALT + right aA +Del
If taking the phone apart for any reason, always have a can of compressed air around, and blow all the parts off before to put them back together.
Use a lint free mircofiber cloth to polish your phone. A lint filled cotton towel, paper towel, tissue, shirt or sweater is just going to cause static charge to draw fibers from it (polishing item) into any cracks/openings in the phone and around the Lens.
Dust out your cases/pouches/bags/holders every now and then, espeically if they are cloth or you carry tissues in it (lint factories).
If you carry it in you pocket, at least turn your pockets out when washing to reduce the amount of lint that can build up in them.10-26-08 12:53 PMLike 0
