    Pro's and con's everyone.
It does work differently than Google or Bing.
Let's turn on the fans and get out the scoops.

I use it and like it. That it supposedly leaves no traces of net surfing activities behind and there is a certain degree of "privacy" makes it an attractive option. I don't like the idea of the other search engines mining my data and tracking my web movements.

The only con, if it can be called that, is the absence of autofill where engines like Google automatically tries to match the search words/phrase but that is a small price to pay if in fact the other benefits are as stated.

Love it. I use it as my default search engine because they don't troll my searches.

Cons: no image search + if I search for a location I can't just click the phone number to call (like I would with a Google search result).

I am a frequent user of DuckDuckGo. I have no interest in privacy whatsoever, but it is the most major search engine with weak DMCA compliance. Google made adjustments in the past couple months and now many former sites that showed up on top no longer show up.

DuckDuckGo happens to be more accurate than Bing but also happens to return fewer and less accurate results than Google.

I use it as default, sometimes thing can be a little harder to find I think, I like startpage for Google results since it searches Google for you, but startpage doesn't come up as a search provider to add to your browser

It doesn't do everything Google does; the good and the bad seem to balance.

No image search is a bit of a deterrent, but not-being-tracked makes me feel like I am a clever fella.

I use it all the time. Google gives me more options but for normal search, DuckDuck Go is good enough. I like their privacy policy.

I opened the DuckDuckGo browser, then in the options menu I selected " Add to homepage".
There's a bar at the bottom of the screen, press "More " for the additional features.

Have nay of you tried the !Bang feature? It's useful.

When ever I want to look for something on amazon the moment I open my browser I just type !amazon and then then item I'm looking for. '!amazon chargers' and I get chargers

I actually just started using it a couple weeks ago myself. So far, I have no complaints. I look up something, it's found it. Don't need much else and as a side, I greatly appreciate the nakedness of it. Loads fast, no fluff. And yes, if it manages to thwart even one small piece of someone's data collection concepts somewhere down the line, I'm all for it.

    Best search engine by far.

Gives pretty good results. I like the automatic video search. If you need a different search engine you don't need to do much extra to switch, just use a ! command.

    !y Yahoo search
    !g - Google
    !b bing
    !wiki wikipeda
    !wa wolfram alpha
    !yt youtube
    !bbapps BlackBerry app world
    (a whole lot more here: https://duckduckgo.com/bang.html )

it will automatically force the https versions of those sites (if they exist) too. It's pretty much a superset of all other search engines and it's not made by scum.

It's a less obnoxious search engine than Google and doesn't default to that god-awful instant search crap that Google mandates. I don't care that it has slightly fewer search results as Google has filtered so much of their webcrawler metadata it's become useless.

My brother-in-law got me using duck-duck-go a year ago. I'm not too concerned with Google - I find them a bit annoying is all - but he works for a law firm that specializes in defending intellectual property and he doesn't like Google's data gathering practices.

I actually use Bing on my PlayBook though. Just found it faster.
