Came across this on twitter, possible announcement?
I can't read German. I notice the date but not sure what the rest says. :)

Hope so. All the beans have been already spilled anyway.

Might be. Sounds like an interesting webcast anyway!

I agree it might be interesting....
Haven't figured out how they are getting all the hardware cost off the books by the end of the fiscal year...
"all the hardware cost" is likely impossible, but if the DTEK60 really does exist (as seems to be confirmed by various leaks and webpages that have mistakenly gone "live") then putting it out for sale to try and recoup some of the production costs has to be worth a try IMHO.
The easiest way of not losing money on the Mercury, is to not release it for volume production... which is what I reckon Chen will do.
The rest of the hardware is probably a write-down/off as it's all getting a little bit long in the tooth. I think you posted that BB had posted a $100M writedown in the last figures?
I could not find an English language equivalent of it. Maybe it is a regional initiative? Because it does just about perfectly sum up what I would like to know, developments for BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry Android and it even says it discusses device roadmap!!
And article that says all that.... post the non english article or address.
But it's just not going to happen, works out better for BlackBerry if no one does know what they are doing at this point.
I am sorry, but I fail to understand what you mean exactly. What do you refer to in "it's just not going to happen"? The webcast? The webcast is real, see the official registration page here.
Meeting will take place.
I meant BB10 isn't going to happen.... and I don't see it listed in that web event preview
They will talk about the PRIV and DTEK phones... and possible future solutions with their possible partners. But I expect you'll find it more about software (EMM/Good and others) and less about hardware (or mobile operating systems). What is the strategic reorientation in the Mobile Solutions Business Unit and the BlackBerry smartphones for your business, existing and future BlackBerry solutions? Then we want to give you a clear answer on 11 October.
In our webcast to learn anything about the backgrounds and figures. We show you which new possibilities open up for you. We will tell you why the world's most secure Android smartphones future hot BlackBerry, where we are headed and how we implement our Roadmap accurately. With more models and choices at different price points.
But we would all LOVE IT, if someone could provide a "Clear Answer" about future BlackBerry solutions and smartphones.
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, BlackBerry 10 is an assumption on my part due to the wording of "existing and future BlackBerry solutions". But you are a 100% right that they did not BlackBerry 10 in any way. But your translation seems a bit odd. Where did you translate it? Google Translate gave me this:
I think this translation sounds more accurate. Based on this translation, I think hardware might be discussed, because they talk about end devices ("the terminals" in your translation). For BlackBerry, devices are still essential because they want to offer a true end-to-end experience, that includes the devices. What does the strategic realignment of BlackBerry's mobile solutions business unit and smartphones mean for your company, existing and future BlackBerry solutions? We would like to give you clear answers on October 11th.
In our webcast you can find out all about the background and facts. We will show you what new opportunities are opening up for you. We tell you why the world's safest Android smartphones will also be called BlackBerry in the future, where the journey is going and how we are implementing our roadmap. But no point in speculating about it actually, we just need an official English recap of that webcast ;)
....and so where is it ?
It's already up with B&H and handtec.
ShopBlackberry should be soon.
Exciting news. I wonder if the PKB will be called the DTEK70. Exciting times we live in, folks.
Did anybody actually follow the webcast? And might be willing to recap? ;)
