I unfortunately smashed my Z30 and am looking for a cheaper way out... I am going to try to replace the screen, but that stuff never works out for me.... I spoke to Verizon and they want $499 for replacement (since I am under contract and not eligible for upgrade yet).... I was thinking of getting a Z10 instead... I do not mind the smaller size (actually, it might even be a better size for me).. I loved my Z30... will I love a Z10 also?? I am just a guy who makes millions of phone calls, emails, and texts daily..... Call quality is paramount for me...

Is it worth it to save a few hundred dollars and get the Z10 or should I suck it up and pay the ransom ???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I just went from z10 to 30 and I feel you will be a bit dissatisfied with 10 compared to 30.

I think the battery life of the Z10 would kill it for you. Owise z10 is fine.

If it were up to me I would go Z30. No chance in a million years I would go back to z10

The move up from Z10 to Z30 was very expensive for me but worth every cent. Two fine phones but the Z30 runs away better in size and battery.

You know the Z30 is only 10 millimeters bigger, right?

I sometimes take my Z10 out of the drawer, and man, the DPI is surely miles ahead of the Z30... but other than that, the Z10 is inferior in every other aspect.

OP don't listen to these other people. If you can get a Z10 9heap then definitely get it it's a great phone and not much different that the Z30 at all.

Again it all depends on how cheap you can find a Z10 for!

Battery life is huge for me.. I would buy the extra battery if I had to.. I was more concerned with just the overall feel of the device. Is it built as well? Is the Web surfing as smooth.. call quality etc... I'm more confused than ever... LOL

Other than battery life (which is easily addressed with the battery bundle), and the obvious fact that the screen is a bit smaller (but bigger than iPhones), then the Z10 is a great device with solid build quality. Calls quality is fine (not exactly listening to CDs over it)...

Z10s are so cheap that even if you do fix your Z30, I wouldn't feel like you made a bad decision. Plus... you can then pass it along to someone else and tell them to join CrackBerry!!

I do miss my white z10. But don't miss the fact that I had to carry an extra battery to work every day and swap it out by mid aft.

You'll have to pry my Z30 from my cold dead hands.

On another note, did Rogers just make the z30 zero bucks on a 2 year contract? Perhaps in the near future Verizon will drop their price target.

why don't you go to ebay buy a replacement screen if that's what's wrong with your Z30. The screen is replaceable. Tten bring it ti a cell phone repair shop and have the screen replaced. They will do it easily for under $100 or maybe even less, and the screen is about $50. Go to a repair shop and see if they will do it, then buy the screen. It's worth a try and then at least you still have your Z30

Buy a replacement screen and find a cellphone repair shop to install it for you.

The difference is 150 dollars approx. If you need good speaker, good antenna, good battery, go for z30. If you can scoop a z10 on the cheap, (difference more than 150), go for z10. Provide you are in the area with good reception. Speaker and battery are the "nice to have" stuff, the antenna is a different story. IMO.

I look at it from a practical point of view. Great phone for a great price. The Z10 is compact , easy to carry and use one handed. The battery bundle is nice to have, lightweight and portable. I have had mornings when my phone was incorrectly placed on the cradle and not charged. A battery swap solves that problem. I get about 10-12 hours per charge. The LCD display is easier to see in sunlight and sharper IMO. The Z10 has a solid build and I have dropped mine numerous times. Call quality is great, keyboard is a good size to type on. Speaker is not as bad as others have made it out to be. Web browsing is fast and satisfying.

So, good luck with ur choice. Z30 I a great device too.

Well I have to tip my hat to Verizon...They made the decision easy for me..... They were super nice and sold me a new Z30 for $199. They did not have it in stock and will overnight it to me on Monday. They had the Z10 in stock and were going to give it to me for $50...I did like the feel of the Z10 and almost pulled the trigger, but for the $199 I went for the Z30.

I know we had a lot of complaints about carriers not supporting Blackberry but this was not the case at this location. The women I dealt with was very familiar with the phones and spoke highly of Blackberry. They had the Q10 and the Z30 on the showroom floor but not the Z10. She had the Q10 and Z10 in stock. She said the Z30 was selling very well and they were having trouble getting them from Blackberry. She went on to say that the Z10 was selling well until the Z30 came out (which makes sense) and that the Q10 was not moving at all and they were trying to unload their inventory. She didn't for one second try to sway me and go for an iPhone or Android... Those words were not even spoken.

I wish that they had the Z10 on display and had a little inventory of the Z30 on hand, but overall it was a pro-Blackberry transaction...

I live in the greater Boston area and she said that many business people are still loyal to Blackberry and Verizon plans on expanding the line as the phones become available.

If you're OK with the screen size then the only negative about the Z10 in comparison to the Z30 is the smaller battery. Since you are a heavy user then you may need an extra battery to last the full day.

I say go for it even though I just upgraded from the 10 to 30. I do love the battery life and speed of the 30 but I actually kind of wish it was a 4.5 inch screen. The z10 is the perfect size for one-handed use.

So if it was a matter of saving a couple hundred bucks I'd save the money. But to each their own!
