Easy, use your DM apploader and downgrade. There are a ton of threads on this issue. Step by step instructions and a couple different ways to do it. You are not alone, lots of people (including me) went back to OS 5

Check out this link on downgrading. Its the same concept even though it uses an older version of Desktop Manager.

I'm pretty sure it's the same process since DM works on Macs as well.

As far as I know it, it doesn't work on Macs. I own one, but have never tried because I've read it doesn't but that could just be for leaked OSes. But If, someone clarifies that it doesn't, you would have to install Windows onto your mac using Bootcamp (Comes with the Mac), Parallels (Costs money), VirtualBox (Free) or some other Virtual Machine Program. You would also need a Windows install disk.

I would never go back to OS 5!

If you don't like it looks, just install a Theme man, there are plent of Free ones available that get rid of that annoying sliding UI bar

+1 OS5 is just to clunky

Slow broswer from what I've heard.
It's faster than anything OS5 offers.

why do you hate the OS 6, I've installed it on my Bold 9700 from like 2 weeks and its amazing much better than OS 5 and the browser is much faster with tabs integration.

In general its amazing from my point of view.

I love the new OS 6.0 except for one thing: It downloaded a bazillion new apps (apparently bundled in with the OS) that I didn't want or need and, by so doing, used up a ton of available storage reducing it to a whomping 2MB. So, I'm spending time deleting the stuff so I can have enough muscle for the phone to work.

The only other thing that was irritating was when the new OS was installed, all my apps appeared to be brand new and not registered. Many of them had a 10 day trial on them so I had to hunt down registration keys to get the apps I paid for operating again. VERY time consuming.

But, for all that, I agree the new system is great and DOES work alot faster. Battery time seems to be longer, also. Gotta love that! NB: it IS territorial, so make sure you have your registration keys handy when you have to re-do everything.

6 is great but does not perform well on the 9650. Device lacks horsepower to run it, whereas 5 was snappy. Hence, 6 "es u se que es". The 9900 hopefully will run 7 clean.
