I don't really understand whether or not this is a good amount of memory or not, I don't really know anything about KB, Gb, mb, all that stuff but my File Free is

Yes that is a lot. Its approx 290 mb's. You should start worrying around or under 10-15 mb's.

I'm wondering though, you must not have updated your device model correct? It says you still have a 9630?

I have a question....is application memory the same as memory left on the device or is it for applications downloade? I know might seem like a silly question but I'm in the don't understand memory club too..

Application memory holds your Operating System (OS), apps you install, and various
databases (messages, SMS/MMS, calendar entries, memos, etc...)

The amount that appears in File Free is, for lack of a less complicated description,
the amount space remaining that can be used for the items listed above (OS
notwithstanding)

My Tour's file free memory is at about 86989431 and when I reboot it jumps to about 103. 302 is crazy for a Tour. U must not have anything on your phone.
