I like that you can search for options found in settings too. Handy!

I swear I never use the search button at the bottom on my z10.
I want to put something else there, like music or bbm.

It's very handy on my Z10.

I have but I hate that it opens another app and then stays open itself so when done there are now 2 windows to close.
Right, BBRY should address this. Real annoyance.

I find all three a pain. Always bumping the camera on.

Wish we had the option of having the icons there or not.

Always. I use it to access documents, Evernote or Remember entries faster. I use it to initiate a Google Search, I even use it to post a status/tweet!

Again, great place for a programmable convenience key to launch search.

Is it possible for a headless app to take over the voice-command long button press action? That would make it more intuitive to pull up search with a button press instead of punching an icon on the home screen.

I think people think its just used to search for items. You can post to your facebook status very quickly or tweet also without actually opening the apps. If they knew all the things that were capable of using the 'search' button they might use it more.
    ^^^THIS

Maybe BB should change the look of it the little search icon is soo misleading. Case in point, look at how many people here don't know what it can do.

all the time, if you actually start to use it you will notice how many features there is. I search the internet with it, search for messages/emails, search on youtube(supertube), business numbers/locations (updatein, foursquare, spotcast), last app i opened, notes within Remember without actually having to look for them, update status' and places on foursquare (Untapped)/facebook/twitter.

It's no Google Now but it is actually better then Google Now accessing things that are on your phone. I do wish Universal Search was more connected like Google Now but this is a good start (carried from BBOS7).

It is better on my Q10 then it is on my Z30 because the Q10 I can just start typing and it pops up and the Z30 i have to wait till the keyboard comes up type then minimize the keyboard by holding the space bar.

I would attach pictures but for some reason CB10 won't let me right now:S

I use it all the time. And since it remembers the last apps you opened with it, I use it to quickly find my most used apps. I don't have to scroll through the 10 or so app screens to find the app I want.
