I doubt it since they are cutting back on their EDGE service and focusing more on 3G.

If you search, there are folks that have said the 8900 is actually in ATT inventory but they have held it back for some reason - but it may not see the light of day due to the lack of 3G.

RIM would have made the 8900 3g capable if there was a doubt in their mind it wouldn't sell due to lack of 3g. Not everyone lives where 3g is available either. Plus ATT's 3g blows... Its pathetic. IMO (presuming ATT has them) they aren't putting them up for sale yet because of the recent release of the bold, or because they want to get rid of their surplus of other BB's. Again that's just my theory.

Oh really? Maybe you live in a bad location, but here in NY, AT&T has amazing 3G coverage, and the data speeds are faster than Verizon. Guess I live in a really nice spot.

How exactly do you know if 3G is working in your area?

If the 3G symbol appears on your screen it is working or what?

Yea, if you have the 3g in the corner then you're on a 3g network.

There was that ATT branded out there at one point in time. Now, I am not sure what is going happen in that regard.

It seems unlikely, but you have two choices.

    1) Wait and see if it actually comes out. You may get it, you may not.

    2) Get an 8900 from T-mobile or Rogers and unlock it.

I will bet it won't come out then. I haven't heard anything but wherever you got that from, if it is from someone in the know, is only an estimate.

He was kidding, and imo, touch screen = the anti christ. Rim better have a friggin' phone that runs off of telepathy and has jedi mind tricks by 2015. Burrrrrry apple. Haha
