The layout on WebOS existed before RIMs Tablet OS UI. If anything, RIM took from Palm/HP, not the other way around.

Man remove your RIM goggles and see the world. QNX blatantly copied WebOS.

Theres only so many ways to start a UI from scratch, They will differentiate as they grow. Robbing from a phone for a tablet, ok. So what. This is the type of story nobody remembers

QNX is much older than WebOS; perhaps you mean the PlayBook OS borrows some UI ideas from WebOS?

People seem to forget QNX isn't the new kid on the block, just because it's new to BlackBerry.

Why would I be talking about qnx powering some nuclear power plant or other? Nobody's denying that they borrowed some UI ideas but as OS goes they are completely different.

I could just as easily ask why you would be saying that "QNX" borrowed something when QNX is now owned by RIM, and the product with the borrowed ideas is the RIM PlayBook running a RIM OS with a QNX microkernel. QNX didn't take anything from WebOS; RIM purchased QNX, based its new OS on it, then used some of the WebOS UI ideas.

I'm sorry but does it change the fact they're completely different or do you just like to beat around the bush a lot? Maybe you don't realize QNX was working on a OS for a Blackberry tablet long before Rim bought QNx

You need to be a little more clear. To what does "they're" in this sentence refer? RIM and QNX as companies? QNX and WebOS as operating systems?

As far as QNX working on a RIM tablet OS "long before RIM bought QNX," I'd like to see the source. Jim Balsillie claimed RIM "birthed a tablet in a year" during the last earnings call, so if QNX was working on the OS prior to the RIM acquisition, Balsillie lied to investors.

    About QNX

Over the past 30 years, QNX software has become a big part of everyday life. People encounter QNX-controlled systems whenever they drive, shop, watch TV, use the Internet, or even turn on a light. Its ultra-reliable nature means QNX software is the preferred choice for life-critical systems such as air traffic control systems, surgical equipment, and nuclear power plants. And its cool multimedia features have QNX software turning up in everything from in-dash radios and infotainment systems to the latest casino gaming terminals.
In any event, QNX was nothing more then 1's and 0's before RIM got ahold of it.. minus a few GUIS that devs came up with. Like it or not, their styling cues for it came from webOS.

So...anyone choosing a side here between "QNX was first" or "webOS was first" is wrong on both accounts.

QNX was first, but in most recent times it took styling cues from webOS. People argue over the stupidest things.. logic wins, Google helps.
