I use it all the time, like now all that I'm doing is flicking the words up. It is quick and efficient. I never need to use two hands to type. Most people often ask how am i able to type with one hand using only my thumb and when i show them they are always blown away. BlackBerry 10 is awesome.

I use it. Take, for example, "what-if.xkcd.com". In browser when I type "wh" the keyboard predicts I'll type "what-if".

If we are to assume you swipe down once to get to that hypen/dash glyph, one flick saves me whopping 6 movements. It's awesome.

It's also awesome for frequent stuff like laundry lists. After so many times you can type in the first few letters and then it's flick all the way.

Flick really shines for those times. I don't think it's something you use all the time, but it has its space

I turned off that keyboard feature. I found that I was typing slower with it because I would have to pay attention to all the suggested words above each key. I type a lot faster when I type out every letter myself.

I use it all the time. The backspace swipe is also the bomb! When i first started using it, it was so different from the physical keyboard that i was used to, that I thought it was a pain in the you know what, but after sticking to it for a couple weeks, i found i can't live without it. Even when my place of work decided they weren't going to support bb10, and they asked for my z10 back, i finally went out and got a personal z10. In combination with the locator cursor circle, i haven't come across anything on my s4 that comes close to this. I get quite frustrated with the s4, and working in touchdown!

Yes I use it all the time. I'm using it right now.

    And here's the trick :

Slow your typing down. If you slow down slightly in order to use the flick, rather than quickly typing out whole words, your typing will be faster.

I just typed this faster than you could. Definitely.

OP, the exact opposite experience here.
Initially I used it not that much. Somehow too strange at the beginning. Then I decided to use it more and now I can't live without it. The keyboard seems to read my mind and the gesture is very handy. Almost no typos.
Maybe you should give it a second chance.

Swipe is the best future for virtual keyboard out there! I just love it. It convinced me to get the z10 in stead of the q10 as a keyboard lover

Always when on Z10. I even sometimes accidentally flick on the Q10 keyboard but as you can guess unfortunately there is no response.

I always use it. The more you use it the better it gets. Mine is now predicting email addresses and web URLs (as Raestloz said). I have a Z10 and a Q10 and I can type much faster on the Z than the Q, or my iPad.

Curious to see who actually uses this feature; when it was first announced/released it seemed everyone was in a hoo-rah about revolutionizing the touchscreen keyboard. Now, I haven't seen one post/comment about it in the last 6 months...

I used it when I first got my hands on a Z10, but after a while, it felt very unnatural and more of a hassle. After using my LG G Pro (Android 4.1 Jellybean) for sometime, I can honestly say that I prefer that touch keyboard over the Z10's. I've gotten less typos, and I am able to type faster on it than the Z10 and it's word suggestion and word prediction is very good.

My gf stopped flicking keys on the touchscreen a while ago and told me it was a novel feature, but not really useful. She also noted that the words appeared too small over the keys. I know there are space limitations, but the suggested words just seemed cramped and hard to read... For whatever reason, we just haven't used this feature since we first got the phone.

    Do you use this feature?
It is very useful especially if you send/reply a lot of business emails, once the keyboard learns your most used words and phrases, you can write a long email within seconds, and remember that the flicking is just one of the features, while you type it auto-corrects when you hit the space bar.

P.S. i really find android keyboards to be more of a hassle and for me is easier to flick up then to move my thumb onto the upper edge of the keyboard to select predicted words.

Agree 100% i use to hate VKBs but now i just got so use to the Z10s KB a mean is the best out there.

BB OS10 Virtual Key Board features:

    • It learns from you, and it really does.
    • word prediction appears on top of the next letter you're about to type, really convenient.
    • swipe/flick up to select the predicted word.
    • swipe left for delete (backspace).
    • swipe down for characters, swipe twice and it'll get you to the other page of characters.
    • press/hold shift key and you can select text like legacy devices.
    • auto correct on the space bar.
    • auto detect up to 3 languages.
    • the keys virtual sound is just like if you were typing on a Physical keyboard.

    and more....
