I don't have an old BlackBerry to miss, but sometimes I do get nostalgic about my old Sidekick 3, my first smartphone, even though my Classic is better in every way.
Sidekick 3 was my first smartphone too! I had the LX, the LX09, and I never thought I'd leave the Sidekick line. Then the Great Sidekick Outage of 2009 happened, and that event actually pushed me to my first BlackBerry, the 9700.

Have to say that yes at times I do miss my old 9650.... BlackBerry was very good at some things.

Of course I miss my original smartphone too.... Palm Treo (755), as Palm was very good at some things too. (never understood why BlackBerry didn't have a touch screen or group contact (shortcuts)

Still use it and really like the simplicity, Can't beat it. The 9900 handles 90 % of what I do perfectly and I have a workaround for the other 10. It's just fun to use!!

Sometimes I think about my old 8330 or 9780 .
9780 was my first Blackberry. I got to say I used to get into 4 hour convos with someone on BBM and FB and I sure don't miss that stiff keyboard. The 9790 was better and 9900 even better.

Still the 9780 was a good camera upgrade from the 9700's 3.2 MP camera if I recall. Oh and that autofocus, it is missed on the 9900 for macro shots you could take fingerprint pics of need be.

To be thin, no autofocus on the 9900, it's ok to suffer a little for fashion

Most of the Crackberry subscribers care because they like this sort of phone.

Not everyone has to have an android or ios phone.

Hmmm. I guess I do miss the "smiley PKB" of years past.

However, I have learned to, if not love and rave, like and appreciate the Q's PKB.

As strange as it seems, I really miss the pure simplicity and efficiency of the clickwheel on my 7280. That plus the insane battery life really cemented my BB loyalty. Second would probably be the Passport, followed by the 9900. I do enjoy my Priv, but kind of miss the old days.

I guess that's why I'm the sole standout BB-user in my social and work circles.

Pop the sim into it and join us in the 9900 section. They just made a new FB messenger in App World and there is also a client for Instagram, if that is your cup of tea.

Fun to type on, still fast. Notifs for email, text, etc still come in faster than my iPad Air

How's the FB app for the BBOS holding up, Ralph? I have been meaning to ask a BBOS user for a while.

The only issue I have with using BBOS again is having to pay for BlackBerry Internet Services; some telecom companies have ceased to provide it nowadays.

The app is working excellent BUT if you update you are stuck with a shortcut to the web version. Fortunately we have the OTA link to put the native FB app back.

Too bad you have to pay, as far as I know in Canada BIS is all included. I swap between my iPhone and 9900 every month or so.

I wish I could combine iOS software into the chassis of the 99 and I would be a happy pappy

I will always have a soft spot in my heart for my old 9900 best of the Best of BlackBerry however my wife just gave up her 9700 still working fine for talk and text though you have to admit the screens were pretty small on them based on today's screen size .

Miss my 8700 and 8900 times.

8700 because it was my first step into the smartphone world.
And was kinda magical to have e-mail, AOL and MSN on a mobile device!

8900 because it was the first real "multimedia" device for me.
Camera and screen just were stunning back then!
(that device was my longest companion)

I was a big fan of my Bold 9900-except for the camera-it was a downgrade from my 9700. I still have my wife and my 9900 (they are pristine) and my 9700. I firmly believe the Classic is more than a worthy successor to the 9900. Some my differ but for me and my needs it is damn near ideal. I picked up my beautiful Cobalt version last Black Friday and to this day I am still enamored with the purchase and its usage.

BH7171 I have two Cobalt Classic's, love them and have just bought a backup Otterbox Defender case.

The Passports are very good but Classics are more iconically BlackBerry. Maybe a third if I can get one cheap enough.

Yes, the Classic is definitely the successor to the Bold-9900. For me it just came out too late in the BB10 cycle. Still respect the device and find myself constantly checking eBay and kijiji for the device, lol.
