Does a cellphone service provider know if you're using their phone as a modem? Aside from the monthly billing statement that shows how much data (in kB's) was used within the period, could they defer weather its from general data usage (internet browser, 411, and other data usage programs) or data usage from the phone being used as a modem? Also, if i have an unlimited data plan, would it matter anyway?
I ask because there are some threads where users say their smart phone plans have unlimited data (internet and the like) but there's a separate charge for the phone-as-modem feature.
