I started out with the Sprint Treo 500 a few years back. I had the first one replaced 8 times due to the crappy earpiece speaker. I got each new model of the Treo as they came out but finally dumped Sprint after 7 years and went with a BB 8830. In my opinion, the BB is superior to the Treo.

I've had several WIndoze products. I started with a WindowsCE pocketPC when they first came out. I loved what it could do, but had trouble incorporating it into my life as a ER Nurse. Then I upgraded to a Dell Axim, but it was still WindowsCE. I was able to upgrade the software to make it a Windows Mobile device. Was still limited in my uses for it though. I've always loved gadgets, but find I don't use them when they don't significantly help me.

So I've always had plain old cell phones. My most recent was a 5 year old LG flip thing (My first SIM chip!).
One week ago, while checking out extending our AT&T contract we decided to get new phones. I got a Pantech Matrix and my Wife got a BB Bold. I immediately started to cover her phone and fell in love with it. 3 days later I was back at AT&T and returned my matrix and now have a BB Bold of my own. I haven't been this happy in a long time!

Had palm devices from 2000-2006 and winmo/htc devices 2006-2 weeks ago. No contest - even the latest winmo devices such as htc diamond or samsung omnia are laughable against the bold. Tried iphone 3g, very pretty and fun, but pointless for actually getting things done.
I love the way the bold/bb pulls together email, web, sms/mms, instant messaging into one package. Winmo devices can do them but no integration or reliable, consistent interface. It's scary how many winmo devices are being sold when they're not up to the task.

My first PDA was a Handspring Visor Deluxe. That got replaced by a Sony CLIE PEG-SJ30, which was just plain an amazing device for the time. It was also the last standalone PDA I bought.

My first smartphone was a Motorola MPx200 that is still a backup phone. I got and returned a BlackBerry 7105t that couldn't hold a signal worth a damn. Then I briefly had a Panasonic X800. Then a Qtek 8010, which I loved. That got replaced by a T-Mobile SDA which got returned for an MDA. The MDA got replaced by a BlackBerry 8700, which except for the trackwheel becoming literally painful to use, was the best BB I ever used. That got replaced by a BB 8100. I had some standard phones for a bit and then got a T-Mobile Dash which eventually got replaced by another 8100. Eventually I got a CDMA Palm Centro and that got replaced by an HTC PPC6800. And then I went back to GSM and ended up with the 8220 I have now.
