Tried safe on foods last night. It won't load. Can you try it out?
Sorry I don't see it in 1Mobile. Do you have a link?

    I guess there's a question of expectations.

Personally, I don't expect an Android app running essentially in emulation to match that of a native BB10 app anyway.

Netflix is usable. Candy Crush plays just fine (though you can't buy items). Shazam is good, though launches slowly.

The point is, they actually RUN. And they're easy to install. I don't get why that's a problem.

It is a problem for me if they do not run reasonably well on a Q10 or Q5 - do they ? Thanks

I have been quite critical of the sideloading experience. Quite frankly it sucked. Apps were glitchy and laggy. After sideloading a few apps and becoming severely disappointed - I resigned myself to the fact that I would have my Q10 for work and phone and keep my 4s around the house for spotify, netflix and hulu .

I loaded 10.2.1.1055 and downloaded a few apk's to try. Netflix, hulu, spotify and candy crush for the hell of it. Honestly - they work great and are indistinguishable from native apps really. Performance is fantastic.

The only thing I need the 4s for now is to imessage with my wife, guys at work and my boss. Oddly enough that the 4s has been relegated to a texting device for a handful of people.

I got the APK from evozi. Downloaded from google playstore. For some reason YouTube and safe on foods are not working. It will be cool if save on foods works. Tap and pay in Save On Foods self checkout would be easier. Don't even have to get the wallet out.

Seems like it takes a bit for the runtime to settle in. Apps seem smoother after a couple days, but the load times seem a little slower than 10.1

I downloaded the YouTube app from Google play website. It's the real app with the multitasking mini view as well.

I downloaded Youtube from 1Mobile and it works but doesn't properly switch to landscape mode. Are you seeing that issue as well?

10.2.1 brings MORE android apps to BB. The ease of install is beyond my expectations. The apps I have tried have been running great

Try Youtube from 1Mobile. They have a great app as well.

I'll add, for those who have the issue with Youtube flipping upside down when you want Landscape, turn on Rotation Lock Before opening Youtube. It's a known issue with 10.2.1.

So I downloaded the newest 10.2.1 software and am happy with many of the updates. However the android runtime is getting better, but still lags and is very jittery.

When I look around crackberry there are people that claim android apps work FLAWLESSLY on their Z10/Z30 and that android apps run better on their BlackBerry 10 then their wife/friend/co workers Galaxy S4 or HTC one. Which I find extremely hard to believe as the BlackBerry is under speced and isn't even running native software

Now from my experience most android apps are in fact very laggy and extremely slow, Instagram is decent just for pictures but videos make it lag. And vine? Don't even get me started. Its hardly usable.
So is it just me where android apps don't run all that well (borderline usable) or is it actually the truth and many on here are over exaggerating how great the runtime is?
If there is a fix for mine then I'm open to all suggestions. (Telus Z10 running 10.2.1.1055

Apks have been hit or miss for me, so I'm not to be trusted

Netflix works great, Hulu + works but the volume is barely audible. Jeppesen Plan2nav opens, but I'm unable to register for charts. Simpsons tapped out opens but the screen is messed up. Wells Fargo worked once but now crashes as soon as I start typing my username. Screen shots below...

Thanks, the commercials and previews seem to play at normal volume but once the videos start they are super quiet. No volume control in the media window (like YouTube has).

Netflix should have a volume control on the top right corner.

Tapped out will work fine if you put the Android bar back at the bottom.

After having run several of the same apps on both the Z10 and Nexus 5, I can say they simply run better on the native Android device. They're useable on BlackBerry, but they tend to suffer from little stutters, lag, slow loading, and the occasional crash. Some in app options don't work, and most do not integrate into the OS like a native BB10 app would.
