What’s made it particularly difficult to stomach the prospect of BlackBerry handsets disappearing, however, is what that will mean for the larger smartphone space. In an arena dominated by two mobile operating systems, diversity will always be a good thing. It pushes innovation, it increases selection for the end consumer, and it helps to keep the big guys honest.

Not sure what about the BB10 lineup has really pushed innovation.....

I do agree that I'd rather see four equal platforms being offered that are competitive and working hard to win my business. Than a company like Apple that pretty much does what they want and prices their products how they want. Or Android who's main goal is really to sell advertising to you.... so the more Google can learn about you, and where you go (virtually and the real world) and what you do.... the better they can "server" you.

Lot's of us don't want BlackBerry to stop making phones... not enough to make it profitable for them as a company.
