Feel free to move this if I have posted in the wrong place!
I am currently using a Curve 8520 on the Rogers Network. The secretary here at my office is rolling with a Bold 9700 and doesn't like it (Dunno why) but regardless she has an old broken Bold 9000 she wants to use instead. So here is deal I was made.....
I replace her keyboard on the 9000
She GIVES me the 9700!
I keep my 8520 as a backup
So my question is, Would this be my best course for the device swap:
1. Fix her 9000 (Which I do have exp with BB keyboard swaps)
2. Security wipe her 9700
3. Use device swap with BB Desktop Manager
4. Pop my SIM in the 9700
5. Security wipe my curve
6. Dance wildly down the street while I brandish my newish 9700?
Let me know if you see anything wrong with this course of action or if you have done this successfully.
Also Do I need to tell Rogers anything? I'd rather not if I don't have to.
Just a quick note. Got the phone and did not have to register any changes to BIS. Inserting the SIM card in to the phone seems to have worked perfectly fine. Also, I had apparently enabled remote backup via my e-mail and this caused all my BBM contacts to be imported as soon as I opened BBM on the new phone. Everything looks to be working fine so far!!
