Is there a way I can determine which OS is suitable for the blackberry devices I
have? For instance, I have a 4.2 OS RIM device (Pearl), there are so many 4.2 OSes out there such as 4.2.1.66, 4.2.1.93 etc. How do I know which OS works for Pearl?

OS releases are device-specific, so look for any versions labeled expressly for the Pearl (8100). Generally it advisable to choose the most recent.

As rrrebo has said, the OS are BB specific, however the latest version is meant to fix previous bugs...

This predominently is the case, however there have been issues in the past.

You best keeping an eye out on Forum Threads which are related to the OS and see what peoples' feedback is and then make the decision as to whether you want to change...
