I upgraded my desktop software from 5.0.0.654 to 6.0.1.18, followed the prompts, and everything seemed to work. But now when I open the desktop app it still shows 5.0.0.654. Any ideas?

Check Windows Control Panel / Programs. You should see only one entry for BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.1.

If you still see v5xx, repeat the Install.

Well, duh - I was confusing the device version with the desktop version.

It's also possible to have several device version installed at the same time. This is not a good idea, it's best to uninstall the earlier version and just have the latest device OS installed on your PC. You should have 2 RIM installs, the device software for your BB, and the Desktop Manager software. BUT like I said it's possible to have several device OSs installed this will not hurt your PC or your DM install in any way. (those with multiple BBs will almost definitely have multiple device OSs installed, BUT hopefully you are advanced users and know what to do )

Have you try to uninstall the program and reinstall back? Maybe..I mean maybe something went wrong with the installation.
