I am new to BlackBerry, but I recently got the Curve 8830. I love it except for one thing. I am trying to install the Desktop Software but I keep getting the following error message when I try to open it:
"Unable to Locate Component. This application has failed to start because dbghelp.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
I have tried reinstalling it with and without Media Manager multiple times. The installation goes through the process and restarts my computer like it should, but when I try to open the program afterwards, I get that error message.
I contacted Verizon's tech support and was transferred to BlackBerry's support people, but I am not getting anywhere with it. I already have Roxio Creator on my computer; this is why I tried installing DS without Media Manager, but I'm running out of ideas and patience.
Anyone know what this means and what I can do about it?
I'm using windows XP pro 5.1; I've tried from both a CD and from the BB website, with and without media manager (ver 4.3 or whatever the latest one is on BB's website).
Have you tried installing DM with your Anti-Virus disabled? Are you uninstalling the previously installed DM program before you do the new install? If yes on both of those, have you tried installing DM 4.2 SP2? If no, try and see if any of those work.
