Just recently picked up a storm 2 to check it out and play around with it. Looking at it and other legacy devices, I really feel like the design of the BB10 devices just isn't BlackBerry (if you know what I mean). Not that the designs are horrible, but I actually prefer the look of the legacy devices. I mean Blackberry could have gotten rid of the chrome linings on legacy devices because after a while they didn't look so good but the overall design of Legacy devices, I think were better than that of BB10. I mean the Z30 can be easily confused with an android device. The older curves look so much better than the Q5 / Kopi. I have a Q10 and I think its probably the best looking BB10 device out there.

    What do you guys think?

I miss the form factor of legacy on BB10 that is why I am picking up my Q10 today. I am going to retire my 9900 only for testing.

I feel like the Q10 is the only BB10 device that still has a BlackBerry legacyish feel to it

Even so, the Q10 still doesn't feel "classic" enough for me.

But I do like the feel of the device in my hand and when actually using it to make phone calls.

And when in meetings, even face down on the table, my Q10 has a more timeless look than everyone's iphones.

I actually think the Z10 feels very much like a BlackBerry. A next generation BlackBerry but definitely has the feel and look it should. At least in my opinion.

No I didn't pick up a Storm for comparison, the storm was just a device that I really wanted to check out when it was released but I didn't get to, so I thought I'll just check it out. I do like the design of the storm though. Like I can imagine using a thinner, longer, more modern Storm 2 running bb10.

I always like the legacy look and feel, 9700, 9900. The Q10 isn't bad but the shape and curves of the 9900 just feels better in the hand. Even tho small I always loved the 9700, I would love that format factor even today.

    Kudos to everyone so far!

Normally threads like this descend into a bunch of people who act like their subjective opinions about design quality are facts.

I prefer the style of the 9900, but in my opinion the build quality of the Q10 is far superior.

Once upon a time Bold 9900 was my dream. Only thing that prevented me from going for that was the cost of BIS. Now that I have my Q10, I don't even remember my dream.

    Time is such a *****!

Honestly what did you expect the z30 to look like? Pick up any touchscreen and it will look like something else regardless. It's just the way it is. Unless you start seeing triangular products

I agree. 9900 still looks typical BlackBerry . I just didn't like the design of Z30. Imo, Z10 is way better looking than Z30 and Q10 is hands down, THE most sexy BlackBerry phone

At the moment Q10 is the most high end looking phone because of its finish.

It would look outstanding if they got the 9900 silver bezel around Q10

I see where you are coming from but my point is that it doesn't look like a blackberry in my opinion. The storm for example was not a bad looking device at all. It didn't look like anything else on the market and it had that BlackBerry feel to it.

I used a curve 9300 for a couple weeks before I got my Q10 and I have to say the Q10 is a lot easier to type on due to the larger keys. And the phone build is a lot better on the Q10.

All in all, I like the fact that BlackBerry decided to keep the Q10 close to the older legacy device sizes, even if it is slightly bigger.

I heard some where that the chrome outer rims are actually painted and they can get chipped easily.

I can't confirm that myself as my Q10 is all-black

I can tell you that I have a Bold 9900 in front of me and it's not painted on, it's riveted on via two tiny rivets at the bottom of the device. The cheaper lines such as the curve 9300 carries a painted finish of chrome effect.

I agree I think they made a mistake when they broke away from the design language of the BlackBerry line. Especially the bold and torch 9860 lines as those were such higher end more premium feeling products.
