I just want to know if the Curve 8900 will always use the best connection for browsing, streaming and downloading? In other words if an open WiFi connection is available, will my Curve have the "commone sense" to use it instead of my slow a$$ Edge connection?

I know about Hotspot Browswer vs. Internet Browser. If I use Hotspot as default and no WiFi is available, my browser does not try to connect via Edge. It just tells me no WiFi is available. So naturally I have it set to Internet as default. I just noticed that trying to download a video while at home (where I have wireless set up) had an anemic transfer rate. I could not tell what kind of connection my Curve was using.

So back up to my original question. Thanks.

If your Wi-Fi logo is Bright White, this means that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network in range and your BlackBerry will ALWAYS download/send data using wi-fi when connected to one

Cool. I was hoping that was the case. My slow transfer rate was probably due to the site then. Thanks.
