because you can't have a data connection to your mobile network AND be a hotspot at the same time. AT least that's what the message is saying.

Must be a carrier issue. Probably with plan provisioning. Works fine for me on Verizon.

Of course it's a carrier issue. The carrier controls what data can be used at what time on their devices. The help section in the device clearly states that other services that use the network for email, BBM, etc may not work while using HotSpot or Tethering. It's not a BlackBerry issue, it's a network issue as Jaydee already pointed out. But that won't stop people from saying BlackBerry has something to do with it, because it has been done on another device. The best bet is to call the carrier and see what the limitations are. Why would the same plan on both devices have different provisioning?
