Curve v Storm: Pros and Cons?

Hi,
I hae just bought my Curve 8330 and am wondering in deatil the pros and cons to the Storm? Would it be worth it to trade back in to a Storm? etc..

Well, if it means anything to you, I bought a Storm, hated it with a passion (even with the new OS patch), returned it, and got a Curve 8330 instead -- and LOVE it.

Yep, same story here. Had the Storm, hated it... returned it for a Curve, love it.

The Storm is still a "work in progress". The specs and potential say it SHOULD be an amazing device, but it's been plagued with both software and some hardware bugs.

Personal opinion: wait for Storm 2.0.
My Curve has been completely bulletproof, no funny business, Heck- not even a single battery-pull since I've owned it. It works. Period.

Yes, it's nice to have the latest - but the Storm is right now far from being a sweeping success with an error-rate in the low, low percentages. As much as I applaud the efforts, still a lot of fixing going on.

Additionally, and this is just a personal thing, you really NEED a properly functioning touchscreen device to determine if - well, if a touchscreen is right for you.
Curve keypad works fine for me - couldn't tell you about the Storm, because when I tried several out, they all had fits.

Maybe wait a couple more months, then try a demo in the store.

My Curve is an amazing phone, don't get me wrong. I was just going through that, "I just bought this, but was it worth it/ should i get something else?" phase. But after these posts I'm out of it.

I've had the exact same doubts running through my head since getting my Curve two weeks ago. It's hard to not have the NEWEST when you know you have to wait two years before upgrading. These posts have set my fears to rest as well. It's just better having something we already know works well. Plus, at this point, I am so in love with my Curve, I know I'd miss it.

:) Yeah. I would DEFINATLY miss my Curve. Plus, in 2 years.. who knows? They may have something even better than the Storm. Or better yet, a fully working, unbugged Storm. XD

I just sent my Storm back today! And now, after reading these posts, I feel like I made the right decision. I am going to get a Curve. Isn't there two different models of the Curve? And if so, which one would be the better choice?

I have the 8330 Curve and love it. I had a Storm for 3 weeks- and gave it back to Verizon and refused to pay the restocking fee. I will wait for Verizon to come out with the Bold or the Niagara.

I love my storm.. However it def isn't as solid as a curve is right now..

but I expect it to catch up in the future here.

when vzw comes out with the niagra or similiar device I may check it out though ;)

I've been loving my Curve 10+ fold more after all these great posts. I am no longer in that "Oh mann..." phase. :) Everything is great.

I also have the 8330. The 8830 (correct me if I'm wrong) is more sleek and smaller than the 8330. I believe.

Wow ... I feel like there are only a few of us that are enjoying the Storm. I ordered my device on the first day of availability and received a buggy handset. VZW was attentive and worked with me to resolve my issues.

I returned my device and received another Storm. It works exactly as advertised. The screen is responsive and I have no complaints. I am running .75 and the accelerometer issue is not a problem anymore.

The touch screen takes some getting used to, but after forciny myself to spend a few hours a day typing emails on it, I would feel comfortable suggesting the device to others. Just remember that with anything new, there will be a learning curve.

All of the other issues are just crap. It comes down to personal preference. People will become proficient on it and will wonder why they waited so long to take the plunge.

And there is nothing wrong with wanting a different device ... it just means you like something different. ;)

I have the 8330 Curve and the H has the Storm. I was jealous until I played with his phone and love my curve even more now. It works, does what I want it to without any problems. His storm however there are glitches and things that happen at least once a day-maybe more but he wont tell me bc he knows I will give him grief bc he just "had to have" that phone.

I think its personal tho really. Even before the storm came out I knew I wouldnt like it, I need a physical keyboard and dont have the patience for things not working exactly as they should be. He has the patience and loves having the latest thing and the finger prints dont bother him.

If youre looking for something that works with little to no problems stick with the curve at least until the storm is running more smoothly.

Yeah. I think that RIM kinda rushed the Storm since they wanted it out in time for the holidays. If they were to wait just a little longer they may have been able to work out more kinks.
