We just got our hands on the latest AT&T price sheet for the Southwestern region (dont worry, these prices are national) and what did we find? The BlackBerry 8900 is going to run $99 $199 on a 2-year agreement after $100 MIR. We guess that sort of makes up for the 6 month delay in launching it Well let you know if we find anything else on here, but come on, thats an awesome price isnt it?

Makes sense considering that was the initial price for T-Mobile anyway.

Sweet!!! I can handle $99 after MIR.

Edit: Man, I read it wrong. It's $199 after MIR. Eh, that's an ok price.

    Yeah, but it's 2009 so 3G/Wifi > 2G/wifi.

Ok, the entire EDGE vs. 3G vs. WIFI thing has really been beaten to death. The 8900 is a great phone. Yes, the internet is going to be slower than 3G if you're not at a WIFI hotspot. Some 8900 users love to say that since the 8900 has more memory and "enhanced" EDGE its the same speed as 3G. Its not. Yes, you can increase the perceived speed of the device by using Opera Mini or Bolt but the actually speed in terms of KBPS is going to be 5X lower, on average, then EDGE (2G). Some people, like me, never download large files, stream large videos, or tether so 2G is still fine for us and we wait till were at a WIFI hotspot to download apps, large files, etc. Therefore 2G is fine for people like me. Yes 2G is 6 year old technology but its fine for some people and we like the other things this device offers more than we would having 3G.

    Yeah, but it's 2009 so 3G/Wifi > 2G/wifi.
Lol thanks for that post that just made my day. It cracks me up how people will try to have convenient amnesia when it comes to trying to make their devices seem better than another one. Bold> 8900 give it up guys.

Comment posted on that BGR link by attguy said that the 8900 will be available for the stores to order in about a week, add on 5 days for shipping, so that puts the availability date to the last week in May sometime. Sweet if it tue.

In terms of speed it is, not going to lie about that. But some people think camera, form factor, and memory are more important. Not all of us want to carry around a brick.
