this makes my upgrade choice a little more difficult...i'm eligible in june and i had my heart set on the bold, but if the 8900 is coming out then i'll have to do a little research!

If you don't care about Cellular Video or tethering, get the 8900. The 8900 won't be able to use CV because it's not a 3G device, and it can tether, but of course, EDGE speeds are much slower than 3G for tethering. Other than that, both have wifi and gps, but the 8900 has double the RAM and a better size phone, and a better camera. The Bold has the faster processor, but not much faster in actual usage.

T-Mobile had the exclusive on the Pearl for 90 days then AT&T picked it right up. Trust me, I was waiting for the T-Mobile exclusive to drop

This and it's an updated Curve, so AT&T would wanna pick it up. Plus for the business consumers they have the Bold.

It's business. They don't need two pieces of equipment competing with each other. The Bold is still the "flagship" of the BB's for the AT&T line. Why steal it's thunder (and by thunder I mostly mean sales) since it is still relatively new? Hopefully this just means a "new and improved" Bold is on the way .
