I so miss the BBOS Browser..... NOT!

For most Legacy user it is more about:

    1) That is what the company provides the device, and they still haven't upgraded. Big percentage of users in the US and other western markets.

    2) BIS and those special low cost data plans. Big percentage of developing markets view the monthly savings of a BIS enable BlackBerry as the driving factor on what device to purchase..

    3) There are some consumers that are just "stuck" with the way BBOS works and find it very hard to change. They are happy without using the browser much, and don't really use most of the features that make a smartphone a smartphone.

    4) Cost, many people are still lock in a plan and are not eligible for a free upgrade. Or buying a new device is a very BIG purchase that is only done when absolutely needed. (not everyone buys a new device every few months as some do here)

I had a BlackBerry 9810 I have a bbz10 now. I miss how my torch worked with my PlayBook which I still use daily. But I love my bbz10. It's night and day compared to os7. A very big improvement.

I switched over from a 9810 as soon as the Z10 was launched. I'm not missing anything about the Legacy Devices at all.

The comparison from OS7 to OS10 is like cantaloupe to watermelon lol. Some of my favorite differences: I have never once done a battery pull since I picked it up, The Hub, no more clocking, and the overall feel both physical and with the OS.

I have had people give me the raised eyebrow as soon as I say I'm on BlackBerry but when I let then use the OS they see the huge difference and the stigma is squashed.

I moved from my 9850 to the Z10 about 6 months ago as soon as I could get a free upgrade. I miss the trackpad when doing text editing, the convenience key occasionally, Traffic, and Word Mole. However, that's completely outweighed by the faster browser speed, sharper graphics, Hub, much greater stability, and fantastic keyboard, just to name a few. I wouldn't go back to OS7 unless I had to.

Torch 9810 to Z10. My 9810 was lost / stolen. Liked the trackpad and slider but the Z10 is at least 4 times faster for browsing. Way more apps too! Typing is better on the Z10 in my opinion...love flicking up the words

    Bold --> Z10 --> Q10 --> iPhone 5S

    Why?
Got tired of the clunky surfing and lack of apps on BBOS then on BB10 got tired of the lack of apps and clunky initial user experience on BB10 and then missed many of the attributes from BBOS...then decided that since BB10 didn't give me what I liked from BBOS, decided to cut the cord once and for all and shifted to iOS. Still use my Q10 primarily for longer emails and writing longer notes but now down to perhaps 2-3 hours on the Q10 a week max with the rest of the time on my iPhone.

Do I prefer it over my legacy device?
It took a while to finally get used to a touchscreen key board but after my poor experience on BB10, it was less of an adjustment to iOS than I feared. I still do use my Q10 but that is diminishing and it is primarily due to the ease of typing on a physical keyboard. I don't miss my Bold at all anymore. After experiencing iOS, I understand why BBOS was on a downward trajectory and needed BB10. Unfortunately, BB10 just wasn't good enough.

Storm2 - 9900 -Z10. Next is a KB with belt. The Q10 is just so half-assed in so many ways ,true beta. I know several people with OS 7 phones. Why they don't upgrade? It still does its job, not replacing it till it brakes ,can't be bothered getting a new phone. Variations of the same answer. How often do people get a new home or office landline phone? Same thing to them.

Yes, as of March 31, 2013. Love my Z10. I was really hesitant to go all-touch, but the keyboard hooked me. I came from OS 6 on a 9780. OS 7 came out while I was in-contract at T-Mobile (good riddance, in retrospect), so I jumped ahead to 10. I have to say that if I hadn't been grabbing the latest leaks for 10, I might not have been so enamored with it. The customization was lacking in the early builds. Since switching to the Z10 on Verizon, I purchased a 9930 for use as a backup in case of loss. I do love that qwerty keyboard and love playing with the legacy OS. Call me sentimental. : )

I had a Bold 9700 and used it for good 3 year + and then shifted to Z10 and am in love with it. Wanted to have an IPhone as it tempted me a lot and was the COOL thing. But Thankfully I resisted and am happy I did. Love the OS. Can't imagine of any other platform as I use Note3 as well and to be honest the DROID experience sucks. I need help from BlackBerry and am waiting for their new beast this year. I hope they don't disappoint me. Fingers crossed.

I have. From a 8700, to 9000, to 9700, to 9900. Took a break from BlackBerry, then to Z10 in March 2013 and Q10 April 2014. Still undecided over the Z30, but the Q20, well that I'm interested in.

Ex 9930 user here. Q10 now. I really thought I would miss my Bold, mostly the tool belt, but to be honest I can't remember what it did that made me think I'd miss it? I find the Q10 to be almost perfect, Screen size is the killer but it's much bigger than the bold so going backwards is not an option. I for one don't miss anything from the bold. Across the board the Q10 does everything better, except hilighting text which I don't do a lot of anyway. So I loved my Bold, Love my Q10 more.

Been with BlackBerry since the 7290, the Q10 is nice, but because the Z10 keyboard is so awesome, I'm ready to transition to full touch. Come on Sprint, bring on the Z20, or at least the Z30!

Though there are things I miss from BBOS ( hide icon from home screen) BB10 is a game changer, so many great features.

Top 5 for me are the :
    Hub
    Web Browser (best mobile browser)
    Camera (Check out my channel)
DLNA features (PlayOn - use it with my samsung tv daily)
Cloud storage integration (Evernote, Dropbox, Box, Onedrive - with auto upload : this works for Mega as well but no filing system integration)

    Curve 9300 to a Z10 over a year ago.

I miss 3 things from my Curve.
    1. PlayBook pairing of emails. This was great for work email.
    2. keyboard - only a bit because the Z10 virtual keyboard is amazing but I still occasionally miss tactile keys.
    3. I could throw that phone and it wouldn't break. Not something I want to try with my Z.

However, I much prefer the BB10 UI and speed. After a year my Curve was quite slow unless I wiped it. My Z10 is even snappier now then when I first got it. I'm also very impressed with how fluid this UI is and how much I still enjoy it, over a year later.

Ditto with the love for the Curve 9300. Tough as nails!!! I can't count how many times I dropped it in all kinds of crap, and it kept on chugging.
