It seems as though RIM is going to be running out of numbers for the new BlackBerrys probably by the end of next year. See, we are already on the 8xxx series devices and the next ones will be the 9xxx series devices. Where do you think their naming pattern will go? BlackBerry 10,000 series? This seems to be a trend with a lot of electronics companies, I just wonder what will happen after they run out of 4 digit combinations. Thoughts?

Yeah, I think they will do something simular to Nokia, name it X,Y,Z series. For business, consumer, fun, swimming...

So, they'll soon be called #000000Berries?

"RIM to drop 3 new Berries: the #000000Berry Jet, the #333333Berry Charcoal, and the #0000FFBerry Smurf."

Maybe the Pearl, Curve, etc will be the new names, I don't know. That would be rather cool, no more numbers.

I think they will drop the numbers after the 9 series and just start calling them a name like Pearl Diamonds or something like that.

Those names are more catchy with the consumers anyway, which is where RIM seems to be heading. More towards a consumer friendly device.

But there is some problem if they will name device only Curve or Peral. What is you have different versions of Curves? Like now you have 8300 without GPS and 8310 with GPS. How will you know witch model you wanna? I know you can always explain but it is better just to say number.

Maybe this consumer line would be PXY...
