I don't know if this can be achieved, but I was just thinking, what if these app promotions we get were allocated according to regions, continents or even time zones. Most of them are during the day for me but I am thinking of other users who wake up to find a promo that ran for hours with limited copies already gone.

Or maybe they could add a limit that the user must not have more than two copies per month or something like that

I know promos are for advertising purporses, I have bout several app after I found out they we alive from the promos but even if say 100 copies to America, 70 to Africa or EMEA or anything of this nature

The developers would need to set that up essentially. One code for one timezone, one for another and we'd have to run it at the specified timezone. I think a lot of people think this is us (CB) doing it, it's not and forget it's all part of a beta test for developers and the new vendor portal as well.

It's to test the system, and that includes putting it under stress, which is why we don't do it contest like. Plus, 'contest' like would take forever when the system does have flaws and codes have to be recreated or reloaded for quantity.

All it really needs is for people to be vaguely responsible, and don't jump on it just because they see "free". Personally, I have a look at what the app is, and ask myself if I'm actually likely to use it. If not, then by taking advantage of the offer, all I'm doing is denying that app to someone who would actually appreciate it.

Trust me, if someone really needs it, they will pay for it. If they're not willing to pay, they probably don't need it at all.
