I don't think so, but not 100% sure. I believe you'd have to prove ownership to the carrier the device is locked to before it would be disabled.

You can check imei.info and have them scan it there. In front of them you can also say you don't want to disclose that info as they can get you banned

No they can't. The phone was never activated on an account in their name so how could they report it lost or stolen. The only way a phone can be blacklisted is if the owner reports the phone lost or stolen. Or the carrier blacklists it for an account that is in arrears or has been abandoned.
