I am a BB newbie with a curve. I am trying to use the device for simple tasks such as opening pictures and small Excel spread sheets. The file is 222kb. What gives? This is more than a tad discouraging as it appears this device is less intuitive than I had anticipated. As I have posted earlier, I bought Empower to INCREASE the ease of which I access my emails. It seems that the opposite has occurred.
What is required to have full access to my emails and attachments via email.
Look around the site on how to upgrade your OS to version 4.5. There's a very good write-up on how to do it and like the post above states, make sure that blackberry attachment service is selected. Being a new BB user requires a bit of learning "curve" but it'll be all worth it in the end.

Where is the fastest place to find the 4.5 upgrade? Is there a charge?
I use a Macbook and the BB website indicated the necessity to use windows for the download.
Im sorry, what is BB attachment services and how do I activate it?
I thought all I had to do was dowload Empower and viola' pay and play.
To install BB Attachment services: open DM > connect phone > click
Application Loader > and under Add/Remove click Start. In the list that results
put a check in the box for BB Attachment Services and next you way through
to install it.
