    Hi everyone

Just joined because I'm looking for some advice on which Blackberry to go for... I'm abandoning my HTC Desire!

I'm fed up of the full-screen touchscreen nonsense and rubbish battery life of my Android. I used to have a work Blackberry years ago and it was brilliant for e-mail, messaging, calls. I want a proper keyboard again and decent IMAP client!

Well, I'm on the Bold 9930. It is an exceptional phone. BlackBerry is coming out with there newest version, a completely new OS in 4-6 months. If you are looking now, I can't say enough about the 9930. It is my brain away from my brain and Back it Up! Back it up!

    Hello Crack Heads
I bought an iphone last year for work. I thought it was great untill I bought a 9900 May 2012.
I have 6 email address and forward ALL my phone to the 9900. It saves me over 1 hour a day. I now can go through my emails in a flash and the filter work great. When you have your oqn servers there is NO filter with an iphone

Still learning all the tricks but it has been only a month. Would never go back to another smart phone.

The time I save in one month more than pays for the 9900

    Crack on!

After being an avid BB user for many years I decided to give all the hype a try. Last year about this time I switched from a BB9700 and went to a HTC Sensation. I'm not going to lie, at first I thought it was great with all the free apps and the large touch screen and such. But after a few months like some others here have posted, the new car smell and fill wore off. I began to really miss my BB. I found I really was only using a hand full of apps and they were all available on BB. I couldn't go back to BB right away cause I gave my 9700 to my mom and I couldn't afford to buy one at full price. Well Luckily for me I dropped my Sensation on Thursday at work and the screen shattered. Yesterday I picked up a BB 9900 for a reasonable price and holy crap, I am so happy to be home.

Well a few years back I tried a HTC Touch? Anyway it was nothing like I thought it would be and went back to my flip phone. Then along came the Motorola Droid and I jumped at it. I got used to web searches and having my e-mail in hand but the phone and myself didn't get along very well. My solution was a 9630 and we got along so well that I got a 9650 and for a short time used a 9670. Well when Verizon got the iphone I got one at launch and have been using it since. However I kept switching back to my 9650 and even when it wasn't active I still used it on wifi at home more than the iphone. Well when I got the chance to get the 9930 I didn't hesitate and I could not be happier with it. Unlike my 9650 my iphone is not used on wifi and sleeps in my dresser. And I think it will stay there for a long time since I don't play games and all my itune music is on my BB.

Have used a mobile phone since the mid 1990's. Tried them all except Blackberry. Was never real keen on the keyboard, but a few weeks ago spotted the 9860 and decided to give it a go. After getting used to the idiosyncrasies of Blackberry I am a BB convert. Now have also invested in two Playbooks 16gb/32gb. Looking forward to BB10!

Back in February my wife and I switched from T-Mobile to Sprint and with that change I went for my beloved Bold 9780 to the Galaxy SII. Well, here we are 4 months and two Galaxy SII 'so later and I'm coming home. Just purchased a Curve 9330 off ebay as a temporary until I can sell/trade the Galaxy towards my 9930. I feel proud to post here that I'm coming BACK to BlackBerry, for good this time.

I got the first BB model out and have had pretty much every model since. But I was tempted and went over to the Android side, lured by our Samsung rep. The Note was good, the screen OUTSTANDING, and the apps nice, but the fact I had to use workarounds to manage email, no BBM (all my staff and family has BB), and the less than 1 day battery life were too much. Back to my 9900 and not leaving. Looking forward to BB10.

    Hi All

Have been running an IPhone 3GS then changed to a Samsung Galaxy S2 but after 6 months with that I was really missing a keyboard. My only experience with Blackberry was a curve 8900 which I had before the iPhone (running os5 I think) the phone was good but got lured away With better apps. I have been reading reviews online and hitting this forum to find out about OS7 and really started to think about what I want from a phone, took the plunge and purchased a Bold 9900 at lunch time and set it up tonight. First impressions are great the build quality is awesome the Galaxy S2 felt so plasticky and cheap it's only plus point was the great screen so it's nice to have a phone that feels quality. I have found the site great and have enjoyed reading the forum and hope to post more more than likely with questions! But would also like to help other newbies once I'm up to speed

I'm afraid so does the 9900/30.
Well, considering that I own a 9900 I can get over 18 hours usage so that to me is Great battery life.

I just started using the Bold 9790 for about a month. Was using a iPhone 4S until an unfortunate encounter with a snatch-thief. Before that, I had a brief fling with a Dell Streak.

I'm intending to use this device for a few months until until the new iPhone, BB10 phones, etc, come out, so hopefully BB10 phones do get released in Jan!

    Be careful!

I got the 9790 as a short term temp phone whilst my 9900 was getting facial reconstructive surgery and I just haven't been able to go back to the 9900, I have the iPhone4S as well, but the 9790 is one of the most comfortable devices I have ever had the pleasure to hold and use,

I gave Windows Phone 7 a shot, but I couldn't pass up a deal on a used 9650, so I am back. The WP7 phone is taking a vacation. I cannot believe how much I missed the sound profiles and that LED!!!

The 9790 is indeed well-designed. I usually carry my phone around in my hand (rather than in my pocket), and this phone just feels great. From a purely aesthetic perspective I still prefer the iPhone 4S, but trying to get a good grip of it can be like holding a fish due to its smooth front and back - it wants to slip out all the time!

It's been more than five years since I last used a phone with a physical keyboard though, so I'm still trying to ascertain if I would really prefer having one as a trade-off for a bigger screen.

can anyone advise me why blackberry gets such as bad wrap? Everyone I talk to thinks I am crazy because I want to get a blackberry, they always say android and iphones are way better, but im kind of impartial to iphones and i have owned an android for 2 years and im not its biggest fan. I have never owned a Blackberry and always have been curious to have one, i just ordered one the other day it should be coming in the mail any day. Let me know the pros and cons of Blackberry and why they get such a bad name?

The next time ask the person if they owned a BlackBerry. If yes, how long ago? If no, pay them no mind.

The main reasons most have a negative opinion of BlackBerry are:

    1) They had a Storm 1 model. That phone launched buggy and never quite worked right.

    2) They have never experienced the latest generation of OS 7 BlackBerrys, in fact most I would say fall into this camp. The old devices were comparatively slow, sometimes glitchy, didn't have great cameras and could not be used even to go on the internet. Almost everything on the new models has been fixed, well except the camera in the 99XX models.

    3) They listened to someone that had a bad experience and its like a cascade effect happening combined with all the hype right now for Android and iOS devices. Kind of like a perfect storm.
