Its so funny when people compare a bb that was announced almost two years ago to a brand new phone......... Makes no sense...

Had I been Boeings BES Rep I would have shown them what they are missing out on
Every IT department can use help maximizing their technology policy
and actually the bigger company's tend to need even more help due to the costs associated with it,
The fact your staff are able to sit down at laptops during business hours is great, and makes BBM less of a usable tool, though having not trained staff about the use of groups, and setting up groups when BlackBerry's were top shows just another way RIM failed with marketing, and training.
I use email, but when a customer wants to send me information about the restaurant we are going to meet at, or when plans change and I land form a plane, finding the email in the 50-100 that I got while in the air, vs getting that BBM that tells me, the car is waiting at gate 4 is far more useful.
You don't need to use a BlackBerry, but clearly your company didn't provide the training to allow the maximum use of the BlackBerry, it is still a very useful tool, and BBM is still a very useful addition.
I went from a ipad and iphone, to a BB Playbook and Bold 9900 and loving it :D
hey guys, not sure this is the right place for introductions but i'm new here, i'm from Mississauga, Ontario, just switched from Bell Mobility (Samsung Instinc) to Mobilicity (Curve 9300 3G), this is my first BB, i've been using Motorola, Nokia, Sony-Ericson, Samsung and once i used an iPhone 3G, i really like my new BB, on boxing day (boxing day is like black friday) i grabbed a 32GB Playbook as well, i hope i can make the most out of them and i think this is the right place to learn, glad to be here...:)
I have just returned to the world of BB, the iPhone is cool....but my new Bold is solid and perfect for what I need. I'll hop on my iPad to play games.
I have the same set up
Never was one for games, so Angry Birds wasn't a big draw. But I did trade in my beloved Blackberry for an Android. That lasted about 6 months, and I was looking for another BB for two of those 6. I really missed the great email and messaging features of my Blackberry, and I don't care what anyone says, the latest, hottest Android just can't do that as well as a Blackberry. Period.:)
Just recently made the jump back to Blackberry. Originally had a Bold 9000. Traded that for a Droid X, which I liked for a while. I noticed I would never respond to emails on the phone though. I became a lot less productive. Picked up the Bold 9930 and it is a better phone than I was expecting.
I have been sporting the Torch 9810 for about 2 months now, and have come to love it. I started coming to these forums and have learned much on how to get the most out of my phone. After installing the latest released hybrid OS, I am getting 1.5-2 days on a single battery charge, which kicks the crap out of anything I experienced with the Iphone or droid. There are a few apps I wish it had for free, for instance a Decent real GPS that did not cost half as much as an actual gps would be nice (this is free in Android). Aside from that, I have it dialed in and it is rock solid. It really is a wonderful machine!
I had a Curve 8520 as my first BB. It was my baby. I sold it for 60 and bought a HTC Wildfire S. Currently in the process of buying a Bold 9700 :D
9700 to G2 for a year and now back to my 9700 after the G2 crapped out on me. It remains to be seen what will happen when my current contract is up, but glad to be back with my trusty 9700 for the moment.
So I got my blackberry it's a 9350 Curve...It feels so good to have my Blackberry.
Hey everyone, Black-Dash here. The name derives from one of my all-time favorites phones, the black t-mobile dash. It was my 1st smartphone, per se. I currently own an Evo 4G and plan on getting the BB 9930 soon; my last phone was the BB Curve 8520 with T-Mobile. I left T-Mobile a year ago because of the possible AT&T-T-Mobile acqusition but Ive found myself happy at Sprint and cant wait to join the world of Blackberry again! Hello all!

I'm back from the iphone 4. The last blackberry I had was the bold 9650 and I loved it. I thought I could do without the keyboard, but I can't. Sure the iphone has some good games and apps but the blackberry has all the features and functions that I use and need. I am currently enjoying the new 9930 and haven't had any problems with the phone. This phone is a great step forward for rim and the blackberry brand.
Well, heh.
I go friday to pick up a 9930. I was so intrigued with Windows Phone that I left BB and switched. I have to admit that to me Metro UI is near exquisite, all the quirks in and out are awesome. However, excluding the keyboard factor it's all left me longing for my old 'Berry. I had alot of routines and functions I used everyday and miss the solid order I used to enjoy. Everything with the exception of the ridiculous boot up times were just my kind of order. I guess I don't know how to anunciate my exact feelings, but on the overall I miss my Berry and am coming home.
This time however, it won't be my 9650.
honey im home!!! on the way to me is a torch from verizon to replace my "not ready for 4g yet" bionic. after they realized the 4g is not there yet, it will be, and me dropping emails do to no 3 or 4g signal in a area a mile from the tower, i am coming home. i miss the reliability of my crackberry. i will miss the free gps through google and the 14 hrs of use bat life, unless the torch gets that, but thats what the tablets for right.
Just returning back to BB from hiatus! Used to have a curve 8330, then went to iPhone (don't worry lasted 3 months and then sold the damn thing), then went to a Nokia E72 which was an awesome phone but decided to give BB another chance.
Problem is, the 9860 with Telus is running 7.0.0.261 and before I decide to return it, I wanted to give 7.1 a try.
I'm out of the loop here guys... what's the best version to try and procedure?
i used to have a droid. its more interactive then the bb. but i bought it because its more conveniente. i do love bbm, though.
Converting from a trustworthy Symbian and a featurephone to a 8830 WE, just for the sake of BlackBerry Messenger :P
Ok, so I started this thread, while making a comeback from an android experienxe that was less than pleseant. I still primarily use the 9330, although my son gave me his EVO when he got his iphone and I've been trying that to. EVO and iphone don't really do it for me. In fact Android in general isn't really my cup of tea and iphone, of which we are on our second rounding bases for a third replacement isn't wowing me either. RIM, I'm rooting for you.
I remember the first ever smarthphone i got was a blackberry curve 8320. I loved every minute of it. I eventually bounced around form different android phones, windows phones, and i always found my way back to blackberry. Theres just something about the device that people fall inlove with, something that people miss when they switch to a different platform. I'll always be as diehard fan of BlackBerry !!!!!!!
When my Bold 9000 died I tried the first Torch and it sucked caaack, so I got an iPhone. It is great for kids with all the games and whatnot, but went back to Blackberry when the 9900 came out. It was the longest 6 months of my life.
After 6 mos of scaling back by using a 'dumbphone', I decided it was time again to go to a smartphone. I really missed having data access with me wherever I go. All of my past smartphones have been BlackBerry.
Anyways, after hearing all of the squabbles within RIM and a lot of the negative feedback with the recent BlackBerry models, I decided to try Android. I went to U.S. Cellular, and decided to go for the HTC Hero S. I was excited to have Android for the first time, as many of my friends had made the switch. A large touchscreen, a problem free OS, good reviews, and plenty of apps drew me to this phone.
The Hero S was without a doubt, a great 3G Android device. However the battery life like pretty much all Androids was less than desired. So with that, I had to turn off autosynch to aid in saving battery life. After doing so, I became annoyed at having to manually check my email, rather than having them pushed to my device instantly..all for the sake of battery life. In time, the touchscreen, though vibrant, became a magnet for fingerprints and the on-screen keyboard became increasingly difficult to type any message of moderate length.
I found myself missing instant email without battery sacrifice, a physical keyboard, and not having to constantly wipe my phone of fingerprints.
Though the reviews were mixed, I looked at the BlackBerry Curve 9350 from US Cellular. Unfortunately, it was either that of the 9850 touchscreen model. U.S. Cellular does not have the new Bold w/ the combination touch screen and physical keyboard.
Since I was in my 30 days for return or exchange, I went ahead and switched over to the Curve 9350. Though it's much smaller, I'm finding it much more comfortable, and so far the OS7 is working pretty well. Installing apps is a bit of a hinderance, but like any BlackBerry, a reboot is necessary most of the time when doing so. That's my big complaint is no seamless/problem free/easy installs like on the Android when it comes to apps.
Well, enough said, I'm happy to be back as a member of the Crackberry.com community and await further developments with OS10 and will continue to stay loyal to BlackBerry.
Hello all! I'm new to the forum. Saw this discussion and had to sign up! But I just recently came back to Blackberry this past Saturday. I had a Samsung Vibrant. It was a great phone; fun, big screen, great apps, great for internet browsing but I found myself missing the Blackberry. Before I had the Vibrant, I had a 9700. I sold the 9700 because Android has so many great features, all my friends had it and people were downing me because I had a BB. So I switched. Had the phone for about 3 months and here I am lol.
I decided to come back because I missed the notification light, the amazing keyboard (touch screen keyboards can be very inacurate, and I missed the battery life! I hated having to carry a charger with me everywhere I go. Or forgetting to charge the phone overnight to wake up to a dead or dying phone. Granted BB doesn't have many apps, but many of the apps I had on my Vibrant, I rarely used! They were there just because. I contemplate getting an iPhone but everyone has one and plus I have a nice iPod that comes in handy if I'm in the mood for games and such.
None-the-less, I'm happy to be back! :)
Welcome back, you know its interesting, a friend of mine has no idea what the hype or addiction of bb is. They started in the smartphone world with iphone and that's where they are comfy, everything is familiar and they know all the ins and outs and how to make their phone fly. I said, now you understand me.
