Hello everyone.. Im new here.. I have a Blackberry Bold 9000, its with Rogers.. I would like to upgrade to the Blackberry Bold 9700.. Some one is offering a Blackberry Bold 9700 for my Bold 9000 and i would have to pay $200 on top of that.. The owner's phone is Bell but he says its been unlocked.. Condition is great.. Since im with Rogers, would I undergo problems in the future?.. Or is this trade worth it? .. Thanks in advance..

You shouldn't have any trouble with it if it's unlocked. Only thing is, you'll see the Bell startup splash screen when you reboot the phone and it may be Bell themed by default.

I'm not sure I'd give away my Bold 9000 AND $200 for a 9700 though. They're just way too similar to justify that expense.

Are you happy with your 9000?

I know I prefer the 9700 over the 9000, but, if I already had a 9000, I wouldn't dash out money to upgrade just yet...

if he is giving up the 9700 for 9000, there must be something seriously wrong with it. and why do you have to pay $200 on top of that. there should be a reasonable price offering. not something like this. there have been people have issues with their 9700's. just check out the forums. you will see many people unhappy. so this is the time people would try to make such a deal. the 9000 is a stellar device in itself. its up to you to decide which one is for you. but this trade proposal seems fishy in my mind.

You to see... If you think a trackpad is good for 200 bucks go for it.

If unlocked I heard that sometimes you can just access edge network and no HSPA. Be careful. Get full information before buying an unlocked phone.

Yes it's fine. Try your sim and try BlackBerry Maps if those work the device is fine.

That's not true at all. The only possible way for this to be true is if the phone was a WIND Mobile BlackBerry or a T-Mobile BlackBerry.

The 9700 is just a slight step up from the 9000. It's not $200 worth of improvements, though. Don't do it.

The 9700 is best for anybody upgrading from a Pearl or Curve.

Why would somebody offer a 9700 for a 9000. Downgrading, must need the money or something wrong with that phone.

You're better off selling your phone and wait until youre due for an upgrade.
