I'm thinking about changing from my 8900 to a storm 9500 as I've had it now for over a year. I'm fed up looking at it and I would have went for the storm 2 but as I'm not yet entitled to an update it will be me footing the bill for it. I thought I would go for the cheaper option until I get my upgrade in November.

What do I need to know? As I'm on Orange its more than likely going to have to be an unlocked as most in the UK are on vodafone and more than likely a used storm I go for(as it will be cheaper). Will there be problems regarding the pin etc. I've never had a used berry before and I'm just worried I get one and cant do anything with it.

Oh and will my backup from my 8900 load onto a storm?

Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

Just do a back up before you change devices and do a restore on the 9500. By doing so you will get all current info such as contacts from your 8900.

If you decide to sell your 8900 just do a handheld wipe which you can find in the security options.

Yes definitely backup your contacts so you can add them to your new device when you get it. There should be no problem backup making the switch from a 8900 onto a storm. I use ZBook as my backup application and I switch handsets frequently atleast twice a month or more and have never had problems.
