Since I got home tonight (phone connects to wifi/uma) I've been receiving an error message stating a certificate has expired. Has anyone seen this error before?

This happens as your phone connects to a wifi network? Have you tried a battery pull?

Yes. Did a battery pull, still received this message: You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate has expired. There are options to Continue, Close connection or View certificate. I choose continue, get the message again , choose continue again and the message goes away until the next time I power off. ???

Could it have anything to do with the outage today?

Just tried UMA on my 8320 and no problem. Not sure why you two would be getting a certificate expired message.

Got the same issue/ same phone and same carrier. Oh well, must be Rim or Tmobile.

From blackberry.com. I know it doesn't solve the problem but it does shed more light on what is wrong.

    CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN

    public static final byte CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN

Indicates that another (unspecified) issue arose in processing the certificate, rendering it unacceptable.

    Since:
    JDE 3.6.0

    Category:
Signed: This element is only accessible by signed clients. If you intend to use this element, please contact RIM to establish the necessary agreements that will allow you to have your COD files signed. Signing is only required for use on the device, development under the JDE can occur without signing the CODs.
Try this for me... Go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book, look to see if you have a service book called Wi-Fi TCP/IP Browser. If you don't then log into the T-Mobile BIS web site and resend your service books.

I checked Sunkast and I do have that service book, thank you for the info. I guess it was outage related (thnx JazzeeJ) because I just did another battery pull and did not get the certificate notice...most weird, but glad it cleared up!

I also have that service book.

I left my house for a while and stopped receiving the error. It hasn't reoccurred since i got back. Maybe it was a glitch in the matrix.

hey there - any one else still getting this? I've been getting it all morning, everytime I access a new wireless network (wifi - both at home and at work). Its telling me that the "rcp.na.blackberry.com" certificate is expired and that it expired on Wed Feb 20 at 3:36:20 pm. I just say OK and then all if fine. But its totally annoying. I tried a battery pull and resending the service books. Any ideas whats going on???

    Thanks for the help!

despite battery pulls... basically every few minutes I have to click on continue a few times in order to read email. Frustrating. I've been a BB user for MANY years, this is new one.

Try opening the options on the BlackBerry, go to Wifi and under Saved Wifi Profiles delete or disable any wifi networks you don't normally use.

    Try This:

    1. Confirm the date and time settings on the BlackBerry
    2. Clear the browser cache
    3. Hard reset the BlackBerry
    4. Reconnect to WiFi

Bonus Edit: The official KB - BlackBerry Search Results
