Not all of us have hidden pics, but thanks for the warning! LMAO!
Expect nothing less of an android app!
The hide feature is simply to remove it from your camera roll inside the picture app. It's not meant to hide it from the entire OS. There are apps for that.
My suggestion was to go into app permissions and just disable the shared documents permission for instagram, but it won't let me change the option. Same thing happened for a few other android apps. OH MY GOSH MY SECURITY!!! (haha I joke).
As conite said above, hide isn't from the entire OS.
Just don't use the android apps that give you no control over permissions. Both Google and the app developers that deny you your rights to privacy deserve to be ditched if you care for your rights and have a spine.
It is for you to decide whether you allow them permission to your files on a temporary basis or not.
Even if you could disable access to shared documents, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the app in the first place? Doesn't it need access to your images to post them on Instagram in the first place?

Thread title is somewhat over-dramatic. Don't you think?

Should be tagged ZOMG.
Every app can see "hidden" pictures lol. I made a post about how stupid the feature was a long time ago!

Must be a BB function. My locked pics do not show up anywhere on my LG G4.
Perhaps on the BB Android Runtime. I cannot even share locked files via any app on my LG G4. I have to unlock it to share .
This was NEVER intended to do anything else except hide a photo in the pictures app. That's the actual name of the feature!

Dude, we're talking about bb10, what does your LG have to do with it??
Also, he's talking about pictures "hidden" in the picture viewer. Nothing is "locked".

If you put a .nomedia file in the folder, it should hide everything in that folder from your apps.
This is how I stopped my downloaded ring tones from showing up in my music apps.

I know the link is to android forum, but I used this on my passport and it worked great.
