Is there a way to find out where your phone is in case it gets stolen or misplaced?

There are apps you can install on the phone before it's stolen that can be used to track it. After it's lost, it's too late. I think one of them is called GetItBack. You could google that for a start.

LocateMe is also another application that can help to find a lost/stolen BB. I think there is another one called BerryLocator.

Is essence, the way these apps work: You send an e-mail to your BB. The BB starts to ring, vibrate, and display a message on its screen (LocateMe displays the text from the e-mail message). It will then reply back to you that it has been activated. If the BB has GPS, and can get a satellite lock, it will e-mail you the GPS coordinates as well.

I've heard of others having Google Maps left running on their phones and being able to locate them using Lattitude. Of course, you have to have Lattitude set up on your BB within GMaps first.

I just sprayed my phone with pesticide so it'll kill whoever steal it, only I know to use a mask.. lol.. No, these apps do serve a good purpose, it just depends on HOW worried you are about losing your BB.

For cheap (free), Google Maps with lattitude will work. Of course, you have to keep it running in the background and share your location with another Google ID. But from there, you should be able to track your BB pretty well.

There was even a thread a couple of weeks ago with someone tracking a theif just using GM's Lattitude.

The only thing to remember is sure you may know where your phone is. But is it really the smartest thing for you to then confront that person?

Leave it to Texas to take a life over a $200 phone.

I know, it's the principle of the crime. Right?

Now, if it were a man's horse, I might be on your side.

    Cheers!!

They should develop their own freed application for the PB. Similar to Apple's MobileMe. You can locate all you devices and wipe them clean remotely if needed.

A man's horse when stolen is a hanging offense.
A purse snatcher, or phone stealer, is at the mercy of the victim...

I have LoJack on my laptops. Wish they could get this on phones too.

SpyApp.net is my choice. GPS tracking is free. You always know where the target phone is.
