I have used blackberrys for over ten years and have now replaced my trusty 9780 with a classic. Previously the email accounts were set up on the internet and I have not had to provide details of my SMTP server when setting up an email account but now email accounts are set up on the phone and SMTP details are now required. I have done this and can send/receive emails but my question is why are SMTP details now required and will this affect my ability to send emails when out of the country without any re-configuration. Thanks in advance for your responses.
