As long as you have the sales receipt and the packaging it came in, and it's within Best Buys return period, there should be no problem with returning it. It might be there is something you are not doing to pair the headset with your 9000. So at least take it (the 9000) with you to confirm this.
Taking the phone with you will also help you find a model that does work with your phone.
I would suggest returning the the headset to best buy and taking your device to a store for your carrier, they will have much more knowledge about different headset as they work more directly with them.
