Hello my loyal bb users

I have a problem and hoping I could get some much needed help from one of you bb geniuses. Basically what i'm trying to do is typing the number on my blackberry classic device instead of scrolling down on the trackpad and actually searching for it but it doesn't pick up the number although the number is still in the call log but the catch is that its not a saved number from my contacts. so how can i retrieve the number without scrolling down in the call log to retrieve it. i just want to type the number so that the phone picks it up but it doesn't do that. let me know any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

i dont want to its just some random person number. Not every number needs to be added to contacts. thats not the solution
