    Hi,

I know that US customers haven't been very lucky with carrier restrictions on BB10 updates, but for those who want an official update, maybe these solutions can help:

These work if your BlackBerry is unlocked.

    1)
I don't know how the US carriers system works but here, in Europe, it's possible to buy a chip from another carrier for a few bucks without a plan. A phone number available for 2/3 weeks, including datas.
Buy a Verizon chip, update your BlackBerry with the latest upgrade and when it's done, go back to your contracted carrier.

    2)
Have a friend on Verizon who will let you use his chip to allow you download and update the latest software.

If anyone has more ideas to get an OFFICIAL update, feel free to add!

    Wrong...

    Yes they do

I'm qualified to say so because I own a BlackBerry and because I am the Black Squircle Samurai!

They use a SIM but you wont be able to activate a non VZW phone on their network since they are CMDA not GSM. The update is the same as the leak and there is no real good reason to wait for the OTA unless you dont want to wipe your device and such.

I am an AT&T user and just use a Rogers SIM chip I bought for next to nothing without a plan.

If people don't have an unlocked phone (a prerequisite for swapping chips) or another carrier's chip, they can just use Sachesi to mimic the chip swap through their PC.
