Not knowing what device you're using I'd assume it's the GPS indicator.

Or if not GPS, just the indicator that 911 location tracking is on.

I looked for it in my user manual, but couldn't find it anywhere in there.

For every other device I've ever had, that symbol has meant the 911 location option is turned on. When it is turned off, there is a line through it.

the symbol is the indicator that your GOS is set to "Location - ON"

this means that programs can use it when ever.

if you want the icon to go away effectively turning off the gps do the following:

    options - advanced - gps - gps services - 911 only

note that this will turn your gps off and when you use a program that requires gps you will always have to watch for the dialogue box that will pop up and ask for permission to use gps.

Actually, now that I see you have the Storm, I can tell you that the symbol is for GPS. If it is just the bullseye, it means you your GPS is set to "E911 Only". If you see something like this: O))) That means you have GPS set to "Location On".

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can turn it totally off, meaning you can't make that symbol go away without a custom theme.
