THAT is one lucky dude. I don't care what phone he was carrying I'm just glad he was carrying it when and where he did.

Probably his pant pocket, and the guy just wanted to shoot him in the leg to 'slow him down'. Like in the movies... lol

I saw this on Android Central's front page.

The tech geek in me cringed at the sight of "spider-webbed" glass screen, but the All-American-2nd Amendment-Loving-Gun Enthusiast inside of me kept wondering about the gun/bullet.

The article said it was a robbery so the shooter was probably within 7-10 meters, so the bullet had to be pretty weak. I would assume a .22lr or a .25 or .32. At the most a .380acp sub-sonic round. Whatever the caliber it had to be fired from a 2-3" barrel and good chance it was straight lead, no jacket.

Also, it looks the battery was really the last stop for the bullet; that's a pretty deep indentation. Considering what batteries are made out of it makes sense it would absorb the energy of the bullet; had it been any other part of the phone, the bullet probably would've penetrated completely.

That is very lucky and it is nice to read the phone took the bullet and not him. With that said, who will be the first "tech" site to do the bullet proof tests lol.
