So i heard this is THE way to wipe a blackberry. why not just do the security wipe through the phone? Assuming i go the BSAK route..
1) Where do i get BSAK?
2) Does it clear the 'life timer' of the phone?

I'm personally of the opinion that using BBSAK and jl_cmder does nothing more than what DM does when it wipes your phone before it installs a new OS.
If anyone has any technical information that supports the use of BBSAK or jl_cmder along with using DM, I'm all ears.
They are two different levels of wipe.
On device, you restore it to factory new condition. Utility Wipe removes the entire OS and leaves you with a blank JVM 507 error screen.
To the best of my knowledge, nothing rests the life counter. It's like an odometer in a car, put there for that reason.
One time my phone fell off the counter and released itself from the cable right after it had been wiped during an OS install and I received a 507 error...? (this was using DM, NOT a security wipe)
Perfect. These were the answers i was looking for. THanks all!
