I wish BlackBerry can bring BB10 tablet either by BB or Foxconn. It is a great OS and people will enjoy it on the big screen. If Blackberry cannot make it, they should license it so that prosumers and consumers can enjoy BB10 tablet.

Some of the people I know have BB phones and tablets from other OS because BB10 tablet is not available in the market.

Some of us would love to see this; but unfortunately it just doesn't make much business sense right now for the relative few of us who would buy it. They've got to rebuild mindshare and repair the brand image first, and trotting out a new tablet on a platform that has not yet been very well received by the public isn't the most ideal way to do that.

To be honest, there are things about the PB's OS that I actually like better than BB10. I'm not really sure how I'd like BB10 on a tab. Just update my PB browser with BB10's and I'll be very happy.

They bring 4 phones in 2013 and anyone who wants a BlackBerry will not buy 4 phones. People who like BB10 phones will buy BlackBerry tablet. I don't know anyone in Canada who does not have a tablet these days. Apple does not even bring 4 phones to market in a year. I think it is bad business idea to bring 4 phones to market without any tablet. It makes sense to bring 2-3 phones and one tablet.

I'm one of the few Canadians left without a tablet these days. However, I would not think long about getting a BB10 tablet if it would come to town. Will wait and see what happens.

I wish a QNX tablet that is able to run all Windows desktop application not just mobile ones. It is hard to use any OS including Windows 8.1 other than BlackBerry 10 OS now.

Too early for that adaptation in my opinion. Only the former users will be buying that. Even companies are using ipads. If they do release would mean companies should be able to develop their own apps for specifics. They were not ready for releasing bb10 plus their current reputation is not helping. Although they have improved a bit it's not enough to make people buy it.

It could be better to bring another tablet than 4 phones in a year. People who bought phones on contact they are not buying anything until 2015, well most of them I think.

I seriously doubt they are even considering this. A BB10 tablet would have to bring something to the table other than BB10. The OS is just not enough of a differentiator to make up for the huge app gap that it would come to the market with.

There's nothing really special that Blackberry could bring hardware-wise because even the design of the Playbook was outsourced to Quanta which is what Amazon used for their tablet. The best they could hope for is hardware that looks like most modern tablets.

Then what? Android runtime compatibility that you can't even advertise because it kind of hit or miss? There's got to be some reason for it to exist other than BB10 fans will like it. At low volumes you won't be able to undercut anyone in price, especially with companies like Amazon selling theirs at cost.

It's not going to happen so purchase an iPad or android powered one. Unfortunately they will not make another failure with billions in write downs.

I doubt Foxconn would even bother either.

Honestly I can't see them bringing anything to the market that can compete on price and ecosystem. I'd rather see them make the phones integrate with existing tablets better than any other phone.

If BlackBerry can make a bb10 tablet why not update the pb? I'm not an expert but BlackBerry said that it was not possible to get bb10 on the pb. Because of the size? Memory?

Well the software is the thing that makes it useful tho... we aren't talking hardware here in fact the pb excels in hardware... except for the 1GB ram

Oh, the difference 1.5-2GB or RAM would have made. . . just imagine the possibilities.

So if the new Jakarta is only going to be running 1 Gb of ram, as has been reported, how is that the PlayBook's similar specs wouldn't be able to run BB10, too? Are they planning a BB10 'light' version for emerging markets or is 1 Gb of ram sufficient to handle full BB10? Thorstein Heins said it wasn't enough. I'm confused...

I don't recall seeing anywhere that Jarkata will have only 1GB of RAM. It was talked about here -- and quickly dismissed as an unnecessary risk for the very few $$$ it would save in production costs. Yes they want to make it affordable, but they surely do not want to risk a crappy user experience for it.
