    Passport reserved for BB10. Passport 2. 2017 or 18.

    Sent from a Silver Passport.
They would have, but when they heard a bunch of diehards were demanding that it dual boot with BB10 or Android, plans were shelved.

So I know this is a late comment on a relatively inactive post... but my source (read: employee at BB headquarters, software division) told me that BB had an Android Passport ready for launch almost a year ago but Google wouldn't let them release it because of the screen. The 1:1 aspect ratio messed up nearly all of the available apps and Google's TOS wouldn't allow BB to black bar that many apps.

True they have guidelines the 1:1 ratio doesn't meet google TOS unfortunately.

They don't have the cash or need to follow a different strategy than already being followed. BB10 was a giant mistake by founders and previous management. Any resources the company has to spend for enterprise hardware is and will be spent hardening Android Nougat and supporting TCL partnership. The rebadging of Alcatel hardware is best shot at staying in hardware.

Indeed. They have to focus on whats important now, they can't afford more mistakes.

Any chance that the BlackBerry OS on the Passport be updated? Would really be happy if a native viber be available on the Passport, or at least our OS be updated without it being chnaged to Android.

I'm not understanding why anyone wants Android let alone Android on their Passport with phenomenal BB10.

I have no problem with Android apps on my AT&T Passport. Isn't that the real reason for the Android OS?

BB10 is superior to any Android. Granted, if I'm forced to go to Android I'd rather it be BlackBerry Android.
