Did so, too. Was using Passport when I got Priv (so I could get the Starbucks app (just gotta have that mobile ordering capability)). But i hate charging Priv too early; it runs out of juice too quickly and apps are constantly updated. So, I reactivated my Passport... now I use both Priv (for play) and Passport (for serious stuff: email, text, Internet browsing, and everything else).

Lets just have a BB10 device that runs Google services that way we get the best os and all the apps we need. Hope they come out with a phone that has a great keyboard and fits in your pocket I'm pissed off with massive phones.

BB10 is DOA and Google's TOS doesn't allow it since PRIV Blackberry Android device.

BlackBerry should just release phones with the option to install bb10 or Android. They would have to invest in quadcom drivers for bb10 but basically design and sell models to run either. It should beef up interest in bb10 without the risk of keeping it if android is more your thing. Not dual modes just an initial start-up screen asking which you want then installing it. They can market models some for bb10 some for android and maybe some designs would work best for one OS (like a square screen) but still give the option to install which one you want. This should also be retroactive on all bb10 phones.

How would a dual boot phone sound so you can run both BlackBerry 10 for serious work and android for the dummies.

A simpler approach would be just an option to install android or bb10 rather then at the same time or a dual boot option.

The only possible option is Android. There is no money (profit) in offering BB10.

I think an Android Passport would automatically become the most unique Droid phone on the market. Remember that the *average* consumer has no idea this device even exists; most people (consumers) don't really know about BB10. It's not like the AT&T Passport set the world on fire.

Passport is just such a great concept device, it's like a rare 1960's live double album or something. Not for everyone, but with real carrier support and great specs, running Android? Maybe if it had a "Samsung" branding at the top it would sell like hotcakes, LOL.
    Unfortunately probably will not happen.

They should just release a bb-android image for all existing bb10 devices and let people make their own choice.

And how exactly would that generate profits for shareholders?

If bb is indeed giving up on bb10 then abandoning an OS after only 3 years in the market is unsettling to say the least (to shareholders and users) and demands a bit of cleanup. Retroactive bb-android images means a smoother transition for users who ultimately will have a better chance to choose BlackBerry when they do upgrade. It also can quietly sweep bb10 under the rug while at the same time making a nice little package to dress up the old devices; in the end making a more consistent and seemingly stable product line which is more appealing to shareholders.

They don't have the cash or need to follow a different strategy than already being followed. BB10 was a giant mistake by founders and previous management. Any resources the company has to spend for enterprise hardware is and will be spent hardening Android Nougat and supporting TCL partnership. The rebadging of Alcatel hardware is best shot at staying in hardware.
